Around Me

To this collection of mine I gave the name “Around Me” because that is how it started: I was looking at the objects around me and I began to paint them. Feeling them and arriving in the present moment. Watch out! Besides flowers and door handle, there will be electricity box and used sneakers as well.

Doorhandle – acrylic, aquarelle paper – 2010 (in private collection) Door handle is an interesting object. There is a verb “kilincsel” (“to door handle”) which has a negative feeling to it. It means making a lot of effort to get the attention, almost like being punished to have to make the first step yourself. When I think of a door handle, the word possibility comes to my mind: if you push it down the door will open. It might bring a lot of new opportunities. Just watch out which door handle you are pushing down 😊👍

Night from Above – acrylic, aquarelle paper (in private collection) I was travelling by airplane and what I saw took my breath away. The way the Earth and the Sky met through the million lights and colours, brought me to a different state of mind. I think that is called connection. When I arrived home it was the first thing for me to paint what I had seen.
